Our Process
Step 1 - Discovery Call

The initial step in any performance tuning project involves a discovery call led by one of our senior Oracle DBAs. During this call, the objective is to understand the performance issue that you are experiencing. Our DBAs always approach these calls with an open mind, as they recognise that each database is unique and requires a customized approach.

Step 2 - Technical Assessment
​
After the discovery call, we will better understand the performance problem you are experiencing. Our DBA's will then further investigate the environment to determine the root of the issue and its cause. The depth of the investigation will depend on the severity of the problem. If it is a severe issue, a thorough investigation will be conducted to identify the source of the problem.

Step 3 - Recommendations

After conducting a detailed analysis of your system, our DBA's will create a customised report with specific suggestions to address any problems. Our recommendations will cover both immediate and long-term solutions, depending on the severity of the issue.

Step 4 - Remediation and Implementation
​
After reviewing the short- and long-term solutions recommendations, it will be up to you to decide which option best meets your business needs.
The complexity of the recommendations and your in-house capabilities will determine whether HGK or your own team will implement the database tuning suggestions.
